Do you want a wallpaper scrolling feature on your iOS device? Something like the Android panoramic scrolling feature for when you change home screens? While you are unlikely to find anything like this in the app store, it’s easier to get than you think with an app called Parallax.
Check this out
Parallax is a great little tweak that lets you set your wallpapers as widescreen. When you change to a different home screen, the wallpaper will scroll horizontally. This has been available on Android devices for quite some time and now you can have it on iOS.
What’s the catch?
How to Download Parallax on iOS:
The catch is you need to jailbreak your iPhone or iPad first. There are a few jailbreaks to choose from; check out our page on Cydia to see what’s available for your iOS version and device.
When you’ve installed your jailbreak:
- Open Cydia
- Tap on Sources at the bottom of the screen
- A list of the included repositories will appear
- Find and tap on the BigBoss Repository
- Find and tap on Parallax
- Once it has downloaded, it’s yours to use forever.
One more thing
It isn’t free, unfortunately. It will cost you $1.49 but this is a small price to pay if this is a feature you really want.
Is this something you want? Scrolling wallpapers are fun but, sadly, Apple doesn’t see that we should have them on iOS. Jailbreaking gives you access to a ton of apps and tweaks like this and installing Cydia is free.
